I read that as well and it was good to hear. But the doctors' association is not part of drafting new guidelines, so as far as I understood it's rather an expression of opinion.

It is exactly like that, Germany is following the US guidelines. They seem to be doing it thorougly but the affirmative model is fully applied. My son (who was then 18) had to wait for 3 months before he got an appointment in Münster ( I was horrified) and was affirmed from the start. He goes there once a month for a 30- Minute session with his therapist who calls him by his female name and promised hormones shortly after starting the session. The parents are not involved, it is purely based on the feelings of my son. So I dread December, one year will be over and after 6 hours of therapy my son will be handed out hormones. So much for responsible medical treatment. It' s the Nazis in nice and understanding.
